Biography:

Dmitry Aleksandrovich Baranov was born on 19 June 1970 in Kuibyshev. 

In 1994 he graduated from the State Aerospace University of Samara with a diploma in rocket production.

From 1993 to 2005 Baranov held positions of technician, engineer, design engineer of grade 2, senior design engineer at the TsSKB-Progress State Research-and-Production Space Rocket Centre, Samara.

From 2005 to 2011 he held positions of deputy general director/chief designer of launcher/‘Soyuz-in-GSC’ program manager, deputy general designer/chief designer of launcher/‘Soyuz-in-GSC’ program manager, deputy general designer for launching facilities/director of the ‘Soyuz-in-GSC’ program administration at TsSKB-Progress, Samara. 

From 2011 to 2018 Baranov held positions of deputy general designer for launching facilities, deputy general designer/chief designer for launching facilities, deputy general designer for launching facilities at the Progress Space Rocket Centre (RKTs Progress), Samara.

From June 2018 to November 2018 Dmitry Baranov acted as general director of RKTs Progress, Samara.

On 19.11.2018 by a decision of the board of directors of RKTs Progress, Dmitry Baranov was elected general director of RKTs Progress.
