Equipment onboard Resurs-P spacecraft has been put into operation
04 july 2013First test activation of Geoton optical-electrical equipment meant for Earth observation and installed onboard Resurs-P spacecraft was performed on the 2nd of July, 2013.
Received images of the Earth surface meet specified requirements and high performance characteristics of Resurs-P are confirmed. Currently obtained data is being analyzed and processed by specialists.
Onboard systems are still being tested: telemetry, motion control, satellite navigation, power supply, temperature conditions. Geoton hardware, Sangur system of data reception and conversion and high-speed radio line are also being tested.
Activation of multispectral hardware with wide coverage developed by NPP-OPTEKS, a branch of TsSKB-Progress, is planned for the 4th of July. Such hardware as well as imaging of the Earth surface with further delivery to the ground station will be tested.
Currently parameters describing spacecraft condition (temperature, pressure inside the modules, supply voltage) are met. No remarks to onboard equipment operation.
