16 june 2014

The crew of the 40th flight to ISS, Aleksandr Skvortsov, Oleg Artemiev and Maksim Suraev, congratulated the citizens of Samara Region on Russia Day.

Russian cosmonauts sent the warm greetings on the principal public holiday in the country straightly from the orbit. They mentioned that Russia is a space nation and the contribution of the citizens of Samara Region to the space exploration is difficult to overestimate.

‘All manned flights were carried and are currently fulfilled by means of launch vehicles Vostok, Voskhod and Soyuz produced in Samara. Not only Russian cosmonautics history is connected with Soyuz vehicles. The representatives of foreign countries also flew in space taking-off from the Gagarin’s launch site in Baikonur. Launchers produced in Samara are the most reliable vehicles in the world. People entrust their lives only to these launchers’, flight engineer Maksim Suraev said.
