JSC SRC Progress is participating in the United Nations Workshop

On October 30, a joint Workshop of the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs and the Russian Federation on Human Capacity-Building in Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Social and Economic Development started on the premises of the Samara National Research University. The opening ceremony was attended by acting Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov, director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs Simonetta Di Pippo, head of ESA Permanent Mission Rene Pishel, executive director for Human Resources and Social Policy of ROSCOSMOS Alla Vuchkovich, general director of JSC SRC Progress Aleksandr Kirilin, rector of the Samara National Research University Evgeniy Shakhmatov. “Representatives from 42 countries participate in the Workshop held here in Samara. It will help experts to establish fruitful contacts and “synchronize the watches” with their colleagues. And the foreign participants will be able to fully appreciate the unique potential of our region. I wish you fruitful work and new constructive decisions,” said Samara Region governor Dmitry Azarov to the Workshop participants. On behalf of the ROSCOSMOC State Corporation, Alla Vuchkovich greeted the participants and guests of the United Nations Workshop held in Samara and confirmed the importance of human and professional capacity building in the aerospace industry. At the opening Ceremony in the Samara National Research University, Aleksandr Kirilin told about the national space projects, where JSC SRC Progress is engaged, and underlined the significance of the United Nations Workshop: “Today it is important to outline the ways of training new generation of experts for the aerospace industry and building engineering and scientific capacity. This is the essential condition for effective solutions of the tasks assigned to us and implementation of future space programs declared by the head of the ROSCOSMOS State Corporation.
