A Soyuz-St Launch-Vehicle Has Been Launched

On May 26, 2016, at 11 h 48 min 43 sec Moscow time from the Guiana Space Centre, a Soyuz-St-B launch vehicle developed and built by SRC Progress was launched with two European Galileo FOC navigation satellites onboard.

It was the second launch of the Samara rocket in 2016 performed under the Soyuz-in-GSC project.

The Soyuz-ST launch vehicle was modified to meet operational requirements of the Guiana Space Centre regarding safety (reception of ground command to abort the flight), telemetry system (UHF transmitters with European telemetry frame structure,), and operational conditions (high humidity, sea shipment and others).

In the Soyuz-in-GSC project, SRC Progress is responsible for the launch vehicle and provides general technical and operational guidance for the Russian industrial enterprises, engaged in the launch mission.
