In February 6, 2013 at 08:04 p.m. (Moscow time) 6 American Globalstar-2 communication satellites with Fregat were launched by Soyuz-2-1a from launching pad No 31, Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

This is the first launch performed in 2013 and the 1799th launch of the launcher of R-7A family.

Globalstar communication satellites have been launched by TsSKB-Progress since 1999. In 1999 6 launches of Soyuz-U were performed, 24 telecommunication satellites were placed into orbit. Those successful launches of satellite enabled TsSKB-Progress to take a place in the international market of launching services. 2 launches of Soyuz-FG with Globalstar satellites were performed in 2007. From 2010 till 2011 other 3 launchers of Soyuz-2-1a with American Globalstar-2 satellites were performed.
