Successful Launch of Soyuz-2.1b from Baikonur Cosmodrome

On July 8, 2014 at 19h 58min (Moscow time) the Meteor-M2 spacecraft and six small satellites MKA-FKI, SkySat-2, DX1, TechDemoSat-1, UKube-1, AISSAT-2 were successfully launched by Soyuz-2.1b Launch Vehicle with Fregat Upper Stage from Launch Pad №31 of Baikonur space range in Kazakhstan.

Soyuz-2.1b three-stage launch vehicle is the second step of Soyuz-2 upgrading. The Launch Vehicle is equipped with the control system consisting of modern components and being uniform for all the three stages, digital radio-telemetry measurements system, uprated propulsion on the Ist and IInd stages and a IIIrd stage engine with improved power characteristics.

Soyuz-2.1b Launch vehicle is designed and manufactured by JSC Space Rocket Centre Progress in Samara.
